Expecting a journey down to Paris in October
Please could you advise an approximate current price for diesel on the A1/A6 - must still be cheaper than UK
Also previously I remember that there were two tpes of diesel - is this still the same and if so which is correct for the D3.
Thanks

We used the "Gazole" (sounds rude! ) at the CAR pumps - never went near the Gasoil truck pumps - I understand the flow rate is too high.
BTW the 1.05 euro stuff is often at automated pumps (not always) which are very picky as to Credit Cards especially English ones apparently...
On advise from a veteran we opeened a Nationwide FlexAccount, put the holiday spends in the account (it's not a credit card). The card we got worked faultlessly all round (and you can;t overspend on goodies)

thanks - I already use nationwide because you always get a decent exchange rate but will definitely overspend due to destionation being Disneyland Paris and nationwide gave me a large overdraft limit
Prior to D3, I used the automated pumps under cite europe last time and had no problems

You might find that the prices have gone up, because Crude did
I paid €1.122/litre in Belgium last week (17/9) which has slightly lower prices than France.
It'll still be cheaper than the persecuted price we pay for motoring here! Discovery 3 XS Auto, Stornaway, Active rear diff.

I think there are two basic grades....they still appear to have none low sulphur diesel as well as the low sulphur stuff we have in some places. You can also get the like sof BP Ultimate and Shell V-Power so 3 grades to choose from!!!!!!
I use the low suplhur one ( a bit more than the cheapest or one of the premium ones) end of an era ....... maybe a Defender when it appears.......

we also suffer from the quick to increase slow (if ever ) to reduce.
since the goverment did a tax deal with the truck and boat users no protests as yet. to days price i got 99cents 66 pence lt at an automatic station on the belg/dutch boarder
buts its at 1.06euro 73pence here in 24s supermarkets garage is 1.20+ 82pence i have seen 1.30 89pence
some cards will work but the pin smart chip are diffrent so out of hours dont get caught low on fuel as sods law will be it it dont work
