Don't think you will get through MoT equivalent if you go that route.
Nobody is going to spot 100w halogens.
Don't go "super Japanese technology " route. Mine exploded, can't adjust cut-off shutter now after dipped beam one threw bits of glass everywhere..

But the high beam fill in halogen is in a separate bulb compartment.
I am in Sweden and i believe our MOT would not notice if I made a change.
There are conversions sold here. Halogen to LED or Xenon.
Have someone done this change and with what result?Discovery 4, MY2011, TDV6 Auto

You could ask your local friendly MoT tester ... I intend doing that on Friday as it happens ... but for high beam, xenons wouldn't be great as they don't provide instant light.
To be useful, whatever you go for needs to produce light in the same 3D pattern that a halogen lamp does, because that's what the reflector was designed for.
Someone on here did some diagrams showing why LEDs wouldn't be good ... but that was a few years ago and the LED units are better designed in many cases..

Problem with LED in my experience for long range is they will not focus on a spot beam, type of bulb for the high beam is irrelevant for the mot as they go out when lights are dipped.
I don’t know what type of bulb are fitted to some late model cars as they absolutely blind you even on dipped beam It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.

I reckon 100W halogens for full beams are good enough already. Alternative is something like Osram Nightbreakers. I actually thought that pre facelift D4 headlights were pretty good as they have this separate halogen bulb to supplement the xenon full beam.. Not so for the facelift modelsD1 300Tdi - gone

There are 2 screws, one for up down and one for left right.
You need a very long narrow flat blade screwdriver for the up down screw.
Search headlamp adjustment on here, there are a few threads from memory.
As others have said, when you get good dip pattern, full beam is too high; shame the shutter can be adjusted on the xenons..
A flat blade screwdriver will damage the plastic/nylon adjuster, you need a large Philips driver
