Havent recieved any info yet so attempted going on my phone conversation and all seems to have gone well with better gear change from 2 to 1.
can somebody help me with this please, I have decided to go the whole hog and do the filter. I have followed the instructions upto remove the engine mount bolts, I assume RH means from sitting in the car so have tried these first. They are surrounded by pipes and wires and seem impossible to get from above as the steering column is right above one of them. The nuts from below are square welded ones so I cant remove from below. The other side is similar with access I must be missing something can someone please say if I am doing the right side and how you get on the head of the bolt. I tried gently jacking the engine but the whole car moved so it seems it needs to be undone. Thanks for any advice.

Wooooo there!
Not sure what you're doing! Engine mounts? Steering column? Doing it from sitting in the car?
I assume you're still talking about the transmission fluid change? If so it's pretty straight forward, you do it all from under the car. First drain the transmission fluid, (refill and drain again if you're doing a double flush) I would also suggest running the engine after you think it's full as you'll find you can get another litre or two in.
To change the filter, you simply unbolt the existing filter (from underneath) about 12 or more bolts holding it in place, and replace with the new filter, refill the transmission fluid and again run the engine to ensure you top it right up.
Next time I get mine on the ramp I'll try and take some photos and make a detailed post on the procedure.
if you live somewhere in the South I have a mate who can do this procedure for you, but it's pretty simple to do yourself, although having a means to refill the oil through the small vertical hole is useful
Also having the ability to stick the car on a ramp makes life much easier as well.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Hi, Stu
I have done the fluid change but decided now to change the auto gearbox filter as well. Someone has posted that you need to remove the 2 bolts on the right hand side engine mounting so you can Jack the engine up enough to get clearance to remove the auto filter pan as it has a tube sticking up that needs clearance to be able to remove it. Sorry if thats not clear in my post. I am struggling to get to these bolts, I havent tried to just remove the pan as I was following the instructions.

Ah I understand. I still have to change my filter. When I tried to remove it, the bolt heads were stripping, so I left it as I didn't have any spare, but I think you should be able to remove it without doing anything special. I can't remember it looking like it would foul on anything. I'll take photos when I do mine.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Yep that's the one! I've got one of those sitting in my hall. I can't think of anything that would cause a problem to remove it though. Having said that as per my previous post, I've not done mine yet as I want to get replacement bolts before I remove it, but from memory there was nothing fouling the pan, it looked as though you undid the bolts, pulled the old one off (straight down) and the popped the new one on and did it up.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Hi,
on mine the back part of the pan where the tube is has a crossmember going across under it so you cannot pull it straight down. I think thats why you need to raise the engine so the tube will disengage, I will let you know if I figure it out though.
thanks
