Disco 3 inner sill
Hi i have a bit of rust on the rear 6inches of the inner offside sill. Would anyone be able to tell me if you can buy sill repair panels for the disco 3? Just had a quick google but havnt found anything

Not that I've seen. It seems to be a relatively recent thing that the rust is creeping on these cars. I guess in a few years someone might make panels, if they haven't all expired from engine failures and electrical problems! Richard

I would clean it up first before condemning the panel.
Welding cars is now pretty expensive.
When I was the boy doing the welding it was a pound an inch of weld, so 4inch x 4inch patch was 16 quid.
Just stuck some footwells in my defender, dirty horrible job, 2 feet of weld, wont get that done for 24 quid I can tell you!

Looks like i might have to fabricate some small panels then and get the welder out

I'm sure there was a post on here a while back where someone had had this done and it'd cost them around £1500... hence the reason I walked away from a purchase before I bought the one I have now (that and the strong smell of burning rubber from under the bonnet )I want to see the sweets before I get into your windowless van... I'm not stupid!

How bad are they? They can look a lot worse than they are. Its pretty decent steel down there. Mine didnt look great but it was only surface. Wired it down to metal, coat of zinc primer, paint and dinitrol.
