Hi, Can anyone recommend or advise insurance companies to steer clear of.
Picking up my D3 tomorrow and have got a price from Adrian Flux which seems reasonable BUT have read a couple of horror stories about them.
Help FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

Hi there as has been said here many times just phone around and see who offers what.
Most companies dont offer off road cover for events, but i think that Greenlanes are still roads so your insurance will cover that.
i went with L/R still to see if they are any good in a claim Its not the height of the fall but the sudden stop at the bottom that hurts!!

WaznotWas - I'm interested in your comment on Adrian Flux as I was thinking of changing to them to get off-road cover.
What horror stories have you heard?
Cheers........I see no ships........

LR Insurance are more expensive than most but have proven to payout for an off-road accident with no quibbles 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

I was with Adrian Flux for years with my old 200tdi Disco and never had a problem. They are very expensive for vehicles valued over £12k (that's the figure they gave me) so I won't be going back to them for a few years yet. Never had a problem with them, but then again I never had to make a claim.
With Admrial at the moment as they give good cover for the price of the premium. No off-road cover, but whilst the novelty of owning such a handsome vehicle is still new, I won't be venturing any further than a few gentle green-lanes

Absotiddelingtootlie agree with DG & SN!!! LR is the way to go if doing offroading (apart from greenlanes which are roads). Not cheap but don't charge anatomy prices for remaping and pay out when you do have a close encounter with a tree when playing.

In my circumstances they were cheaper than NFU, raised not quibbles about my second set of wheels and tyres and chopping and changing them. I have been happy with the cover and cost. They are not the cheapest but most would not cover me when changing wheels and tyres and going off road

NFU £330
Even covered some mods at no extra charge
Also, I think they do a new for old if the vehicle is less than two years old and is written off. Worth looking into.2012 D4 - SDV6 XS - Firenze Red
Thanks for the feed back. Got a reasonable quote from Flux and then tried Sure Term.
They went through all the questions and then they told me they could not offer anything....
So I took the consensus of replies and called LR - Yes a bit more than Flux + £80.00 a year, but in 20 minutes I was insured and so can collect my D3 tomorrow and drive it home.
Anyone coming up or going down the A1 tomorrow check for a massive in a zermat with driving lights, steps, and anthracite wheels travelling back to Bucks from Middlesborough area.
DISCO3 stickers won't arrive until tomorrow -my fault - so will not be in until I get back home again....FORECAST FOR TONIGHT: things have happened out there!!!

Adrian Fu*ks!
We were with them a few years back on a VW Golf ragtop. Gave a decent quote and we took out the insurance.
2 weeks later we get the paperwork and deep inside is a clause that they don't cover the softop for damage!
Well the only difference between a normal golf and ours was the soft top with they excluded. They were happy to charge us double the insurance price of the normal golf though.
Had a right game getting a refund, even though they never mentioned the exclusion when I took out the policy.
