Just traded my wifes 54 plate HSE, Adriatic Blue/Black for a new HSE Metopolis, seemed like a no brainer.
Being swapped next week. Decided on Bonatti grey/Black so hopefully will look nice.
Anyone else bought a Metropolis or am I the only one who fell for it

May I just take this opportunity, to ask a really “Stupid†question………….
What’s a Metropolis ???
I’m guessing some type of Limited edition ??
I’ve seen the name pop up a few times, but really have no idea what it is

Our 54 plate HSE with 20K and £14K basically.
So about £6K a year depreciation, not bad when compared against my X5 4.8, 23K in one year!!!!!
Will be sad to see our old one go. It has been a great car, not without it's faults but then no different to the X5 in that respect. I still think they are the best all round 4x4 hence getting a new one.
I thought our old one was exceptional value when I bought it, and I had to add adaptive lights and bluetooth. Now you get those and rear aircon plus the DVD for pretty much the same money. Even better value I think especially when you compare it against Q7, X5 etc etc.
Looking forward to it, sorry I mean the wife is, its her car!

Maybe am I being stupid, but if it was a 54 plate then it's not yet 2 yrs old. How did you work the depreciation out at £6k p.a?

we have the Metropolis that's mine in the link.
Got to say I am more than happy with her.
So are you saying with your trade in vehicle and settling any finace outstanding it then cost you £14,000 to change.?
We got a not bad discount on ours by the time the deal was confirmed we ended up with £4000 of the list price and that was with a trade in. F&M

Sorry, to avoid confusion, old car is a 54 plate December 04, 20,000 miles, price to change to new Metropolis was £13K so reasonable trade in and couple of K off of list.
I paid £44ish for the old, and therefore roughly £12K depreciation in just under two years so about £6K a year.
Whichever way you look at it, it was cheap motoring in comparison to the X5. Fortunately I swapped that for an M6 and that won't lose much now will it!
