Disco 3 not starting after flat battery

Please help my mechanic
Flat battery last week after the car wouldn’t start on a cold morning. Charged the battery over night, still wouldn’t start!! Now saying ‘engine fault’!!. Low loader to the garage time as I am no tinkerer. My mechanic changed the battery for a new one and tried again. Still not starting! He is baffled and linked the car up again for it to give the fault ‘diesel injector fault’. My mechanic is a bit baffled as to why this is the fault but it will not start 😢 any help would be appreciated

I am just trying to help my mechanic who is struggling!!
