Disco 3 TDV6 HSE - more time spent at dealer than at home
Guys, I am new to the Disco 3 forum but have browsed most of the topics - an informative and useful site!
I own an 05 TDV6 HSE. I love the brute but am starting to get frustrated by the number of faults that occur and the amount of time it spends at the dealer being (supposedly) repaired.
So far I have experienced -
Leaks - water poors in from the passenger door and headlining after rain.
Seat squeek - drivers seat squeeks, creeks and moans constantly
Headlights - Xenon light filled with water
Privacy glass - bubbled and started to peel away (I think the dealer fitted after market not LR standard glass)
Parking sensor - failed at the front
Parking brake - stays on and squeels after being released
There are more niggly issues focussed at the delaer really, particularly that it has been in 3 times for the water leak, once for a period of 2 days and leak still stays...
Does anyone have any guidance on approaching Land Rover directly - I am getting to the point where I would like to change the D3 for a new one or send it to hospital for a complete overhaul of known issues!
Many of these issues are covered by LR Service bulletins.
See TFC's post on Oliver77's thread.Have a nice day!

Personally i'd send a letter or fax today detailing the outstanding items and pointing out that they will have the vehicle on Friday and you expect the issues to be resolved fully and finally - particularly important with the EPB actuator as these are 'on restriction' and there is an EPQR (sorry, don't know the ref. number) that details a 12 point initialisation procedure seperate to the bedding in procedure. Not all dealers are currently aware of this...
The other issues should be easily rectified, although to be fair it may take more than a day... in which case, I'd point out that an equivilent vehicle is also required for the duration of the rectification works

Thanks for the tip on the EPB.
They're lending me their courtesy car - a Disco 3 HSE that seems to be fault free
I think you're right - put it in writing and they might sharpen their pencils...
