should'nt be a problem so long as you're willing to have someone elses problems if yer want a HSE, otherwise should be fine for a SE with above average mileage
In a couple of months should be able to get a HSE for sub 18k

05MY (XS, SE, HSE) for around £18K.
What are you shocked about?
Prices are on their way down, you'll do much better than £18k for an 05 SE
Your requirements describe exactly the car I bought in Dec, for £15,600.00D3 incl. genuine glass windscreen, front bi-focal headlights, full width rear bumper, self levelling washer bottle contents and audible 'tick tock' indicator stalk

I have looked around and at the moment it does look more like £16K or there abouts rather than £17K. I am still looking but I do like the look of this car. Just finalising the cash and in a couple of days will be looking to buy but I can wait if I have to. Does the price come down the more you head towards the summer?
Once I get the Disco I want I'll just need to offload my old RR P38 - its done me well over the years but don't want to risk going over to France again this year in it.
PS. First time I have bought a car privately and I don't really want to take thousands in cash in my pants! What's the usual way of paying - bankers draft?

If your selling private only take cash. bankers draft can bounce.
When I sold mine the buyer came and had a look we agreed a price and I said see you in Lloyds bank with the cash. It got paid in then we sat down did the paperwork. Took 15 mins tops.

Payments up to £10k can be done online by faster payment system and there is CHAPS for same day payment for larger amounts. All our cars are sold this way.

I think you get sunroof, more speakers and 4x4 info on screen, but this can be enabled by a couple of guys on here.
I had planned on installing full multimedia etc so I purchased the video leads which connect to back of the screen if you're interested in these too.
