Disco 4 dash warning lights - stupid question alert, sorry!
Guys,
Could a D4/LR4 owner tell me what these warning lights are in the photo? (One is no seatbelt - got that). The picture is of a LR4 that I'm looking at but despite having owned 5 of the things in the past (now have a Disco 3) I can't remember what warning lights are showing.
Stoooopid question, but grateful for a response.
Thanks,
PAGODA

Interesting, so these aren't "normal" warning lights, then.
The car is actually unused (2015 model; delivery miles), so I wondered why it would be showing any faults at all.PAGODA

Low battery? Dunno but I’m very sure about the airbag light and it isn’t supposed to be on.

Wow ... what a waste.

The picture doesn’t show it but note that LR4 SCV6 has by default only the high gear. The low speed gear came with the HD package (at least). It’s easily seen from the center console, the space to the right in front of the gear selector is empty (blanked) if it is missing.

Yeah. MoD Sales was selling a bunch of D4 and LR4s, too, a while ago with delivery miles...

The red on the left clock is probably parking brake enabled. It’s red, in that position and normal to show up like that. It says park.
The yellow on top isn’t DSC but (eco) start/stop on that instrument panel.

Looks like the eco stop start fault light. Happened to me a few weeks back and replaced small battery. Still no stop start - but at least the fault light went out straight away ..... don't do enough miles for it to work very often.
If the cars been sitting around for ages - the small auxiliary battery is likely on its way out.
You should see ECO crossed out and circled - looks like ECU but the line through it does this
Hope this helps 2016MY Discovery HSE - Black

THANK YOU! I have only looked at LR4s on the inter web in the US. I’ve probably have 5 or 6 in the UK and assumed the US spec was the same. I had never spotted that there was an HD package on the LR4 that was the option that has the low ratio box. I like to think I’d have spotted it in person as I’m pretty good about checking things like the transfer box, but I completely missed this difference in standard spec.PAGODA

(Oh, and I ended up buying one of the maybe 1% of LR3s with no third row seating when first I got to the US. I did realize that before I bought the car, but was sold on it by the time I realized the spec difference).PAGODA

Yeah, that was a surprising change since it existed on LR4 V8 as standard. The HD pack in the V8 model had the rear e-diff and a full size spare, I believe.
Someone at JLR (Product management I guess) was being creative with the LR4 SCV6, sold the same engine less two cylinders and removed components most mall crawlers wouldn’t need and I doubt the price was changed... not lower at least
