I’d guess it’s the same block as the D5 motor. For production reasons having two nearly identical blocks does not make sense.

So I’d guess the question is : is the d4 and d5 block identical? Series one 1949 - in bits, chassis is strapped to the ceiling in my garage (beside the canoe)
LR 90 - In bits
Disco 3 - currently in bits

used done 145,000 kms=approx 90,000 miles 8,000 aud or 5,700 pounds sterling believe it or not that's a good price here

Wow, that's pricey for a used engine for sure. Personally, if the engine in my D3 ever went bang I'd try to go the V8 route.
