The compressor failed on my 2010 D4 last year and I was getting similar messages, especially after trying to adjust the height. A few times it even decided to lower itself.Andy

Air compressor, mine did the same last year but had to have a go at dealership due to can't be arsed attitude as they couldn't see fault code although it showed on dash.

Another failed compressor here after 55K miles (MY12), and Warranty Direct approved the replacement.
The fault code read by an IID tool is
"C1A20-64 (6C) Pressure increases too slow when filling reservoir - Algorithm based failure - signal plausibility failure"
Although there could be other causes of this fault code.MY12 D4 HSE Ipanema Sand

Same for me earlier this month - Compressor swapped under warranty.
Dealer said it was due to the weight that the car is asked to carry.
It took 5 technicians to get me off him before he could explain he meant the weight of the vehicle

It's not like the weight of the car has ANYTHING to do with the compressor. It's the bellows that need to withstand the pressure...
So that dealer is taking the biggest load of....
Normal height = compressor faulty or not working to it's best ability. If Hitachi model, it may need a service. If AMK, then not.
Could even be overheating and therefore compressor shuts off.
For me, it was faulty compressor, 4 times, until I took the knock and fitted AMK. Then after 4 months, that AMK was also 'faulty' and replaced under 1 year guarantee.
5 months now on the 2nd AMK and so far so good.

I've had this about crop up about four times across the seven years I've had the car - switching off when I got where I was going seemed to clear the warning/issue as when I restarted problem has gone away - will then probably not happen again for another year - system 'glitch' ?? Not one that I have worried about because it has been so random.
