My Disco 4 V8

Hi all,

So, this would be my 2nd post here.

I have just purchased my first Discovery (and probably my last as the D5 shape has not grown on me, yet!)

2010 V8 HSE with 130k km on the clock and it's a beaut. It's a big upgrade from my 2011 Freelander 2 and i'm just loving it.

From New to Old, but actually to new... Laughing

thanks guys. best part is i just found it doesn't have a timing belt but has timing chains... so that's a bonus. more money for fuel Laughing

just need to do the gearbox flush after another few thousand km and then set to go for a while, excl. the usual wear, etc.

So far, loving this vehicle. It's like a dream come true.

Nice but expensive to run in the UK, not so bad in South Africa!

Not sure what price a litre of petrol or diesel is out there right now but I bet it is a lot cheaper than Europe! 2016 Discovery 4 Commercial

Petrol is currently R13.06/litre
Diesel ranges from R12.35 to R12.80/litre.

With our current Number 1, I foresee this going up soon, rather than coming down...

All the crank issues made me scared, hence the V8 option for long term ownership.

BTW - found out yesterday that the dealer sold me the car with a cracked 3rd row sunroof. Let's see how this story unfolds...

Oh, and I also do my own custom decals (doug@customdecals.co.za) for the Disco. So I like to change them and find what looks good...
