Disco 5 Reviews
Hi all
Keep thinking about treating myself to a disco 5
Not the sport with the evolve back but I think it’s the standard one with the bubbled out boot?
Anyways…
Has the d5’s flaws been established yet? Like common issues that make it not so great. Or is it rock solid inside and out?
Wondering do I stick to my D3 or upgrade.
But my D3 I know is the happy medium as it’s age means there’s lots of knowledge on it that avoids expensive garage visits
I use mine for long distance towing 3.5 tonnes in Sumer for festival equipment hireDisco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

You can’t get a new LR for at least 12/18 months.
Used ones are hitting what you’d pay new.
Don’t think there’s anything much available for under £50k plus. You might get a 2017, high mileage, you know 90k miles etc, for less.

There’s a 20 plate on eBay for £24k with 11k miles
Looks lovely
Just wondering if it would be mechanically great or if it has flaws like the d4 has a weak crank for example or the D3 timing belt failure
Don’t wanna buy one and find the tow bar pops out or something that my D3 wouldn’t haveDisco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7

It’s a Cat S Disco Sport plus it’s engine appears U/S as it’s described as a non runner.

Given a choice, I’d rather own a late EU6 D4 than a D5. But that’s due to my personal preferences and we are all different. If the D5 suits your needs and you like it, then you’ll not be disappointed.
Whilst the D5 is an excellent tow vehicle, the one time I towed a large caravan with the D5, I had one for 12k miles, I could tell that the extra weight of the D3/4 made it feel more stable.
I’m not that experienced with towing, but I do think the heavier the towing vehicle the better.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

Bizzare ...it would still be under warranty 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

Maybe the Cat S invalidated it and/or the damage included the engine to a degree?
Seems to be a Trader, so if they could have got it repaired under warranty, they would have I’d have thought.

I really enjoyed my D5 ...I would have considered another one but no hybrid version to tempt me and other changing circumstances led me to a DS P300e...which is putting a smile on my face for now.21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021

My bad for not looking closer sorry!
It’s just the modern shape and clean feel tbh
Also that it’s a good car but I am happy with my D3 for performance on towing
Just keep thinking it’s a good idea to get one on finance
Probably bad idea just end up scratching it or somethingDisco 3 SE Manual 2005 V6 2.7
