Disco automatic gearbox fluid

I have a leak on my 2.7 auto gearbox. I'm wondering which is the best ZF6 fluid to use to top up the gearbox. Any advice is most welcome.

Many thanks for the reply. I am looking at ATF M1375.4 Lifeguard 6 Oil ZF Automatic Transmission Fluid[/size]. Is this the stuff ? Incidentally the fluid was flushed a few years ago and the sump plate changed. Noted I need to fix the leak and will get under the car over the weekend to check for leaks.

Hi,

agree get the leak fixed, I have used Mannol in the past Thumbs Up

I have also had a Transfusion done in the past if you dont want to Flush Whistle

Just checking do you know there is a specific method and temperature that the gearbox oil needs to be at Question
its not just a level plug.

Thumbs Up

Im not sure, but once I check I will know better. I was also going into limp mode when trying to drive but once the engine and box was warmed up the fault disappeared.

It seems that ZF now recommend a gearbox Flush as good maintenance Thumbs Up

The transmission places I've dealt with will only use genuine fluid. Flushing a 100k mile transmission is a game of russian roulette anyway so why make it more risky, or give the customer some cause for complaint when they have problems months down the line.
