Our disco journey begins….

After collecting my D3 a few months back I’ve finally got started with some Mods!



Upgraded Headlight bulbs - Autobrite main beam, much brighter and match the Dip beam Colour. Mr. Green

Off road tyres/wheels - managed to pick up a set of RRS 19” alloys of a fellow member & then got a set of wranglers from another fellow owner Mr. Green Not on the car all the time as there’s no need.



Yesterday the roof rack went on. Fitting was easy, 6 bolts. 2 x track bolts each side and 1 x front bolts either side. Not to heavy which made lifting it up easier. Not quite the sleek look of a prospeed one but the open front suits what I’d like as I’ll be putting spots/LED bar across the front. Build quality is excellent very neat all round.


Will get better photos today!

Collected a genuine LR nudge bar last week (bargain) so that’s to be fitted in the coming weeks!

Cheers! They make a plastic guard for the front with spot light holes built in so may get that or make something once I decide what lights I'm fitting!

Wind deflectors on today. Nice and easy to fit even without instructions Laughing

4 small LED Bars ordered for the front of the roof rack. 360 amber strobes with rear reds for the back are also on order and should be here by end of the week and hopefully fitted soon after (if SWMBO allows Bow down )

Then it’ll be for service and hopefully get the under seal sprayed on! 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone

Went with team heko in the end. Front ones were a bit tight & the windows didn’t like them to start but with some messing round the window shut without an issue and all was good. All in all the full set were fitted in about 15 mins Thumbs Up 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone

Got some time whilst on nights this week to get the stones.

Fitted with P clamps round the rack tubes, wiring hidden behind the tubing and then into the car around the boot. Still got to finish of placing the wiring to the front of the disco & fitting a switch. Pleased with the results so far. Lights aren’t anything fancy just Amazon specials but good enough for the work I’ll need them for.







Spot lights arrived today so got them to fit also! Anyone reccomend switch placement for potentially 4 switches together? Thumbs Up 2009 Discovery 3 HSE - Gone

Finally managed to get the spots on & wired. Picked up the feed from the main beam, wiring ran up the A post to the spots & through the firewall gromit! 4 x small switches fitted up by the sunroof switch!

for those that have spots up on the roof is the light in the bonnet normal? It’s not a glare and doesn’t cause any distraction so not to bothered but just wondered if anyone had the same and found a fix? Thumbs Up


Also got the strobes wired in too. Switch in same place as the spots! Nice and simple and will lift off with the rack so no holes in the car! Nice and bright for Amazon specials too Laughing
