I've done karting on ice, top fun.

I'm amazed at how the D3 pulled away and turned in, I guess that was winter tyres?

A few years ago we went to Finland with LR and did ice lake and racing in Disco3, FL. Defender, Evoque, and RRS1, and FFRR we were shown how to by the Finish womens world rally champion and boy could she drive on ice and snow. It was somthing else to be going round an ice lake at a very odd angle with foot fully planted in a FFRR 8). When we had finished on the lake we went onto a strip where there was a slalem down a hill through cones then back up a twisty track and round again. We raced each other and the LR team who were there with us. The first few times there were a few vehicles planted in snow banks but towards the end of the day most were getting round fairly quickly and with no real issue. We were in standard vehicles but had studded tyres

We organize this event since 2008 and after 8 years we are now able to drive fast and safely on ice.
We just rent the racetrack because a full course is very expensive, but it figure out like the best way to learn how to drive in that condition.
Curiously if you want to drive the D3 in "derapage" you must select the "sand" mode and cut off the DSC, but unfortunately this comes out itself if the steering wheel is rotated over half clock or the yaw sensor feel a lateral acceleration excedence Neutral
