| Disco4 Stars Wars Audio Static Sounds when cold |
|
OK so I have had for 6 months, no audio when the car is cold for the first 10 minutes or so on start up, just the star wars audio static, does this my amp is half dead, any solutions or cost effective replacement suggestions welcome

Sounds like a dry solder joint , if I've understood correctly that after 10 mins it works? .

yes its totally fine once it has warmed up, which takes either 5 or 15 minutes depending on how cold the ambient temp is, how would I find a dry solder joint though? I have a lovely soldering iron, would this be inside the amp

 so the new amp when plugged in worked just fine until I switched the car off and on again when it is back to the same old problem. need to follow the MOST Bus around seems, like a broken wire somewhere

So took it to an auto electrician, nothing wrong with the amp power source, and it seems on my 2012 HSE that the MOST bus is only between 3 units; the MuliMedia screen, Integrated CD RADIO BLUETOOTH SAT NAV unit and the Amp so the next stage is have bought a replacement Integrated CD RADIO BLUETOOTH SAT NAV unit from fleabay

Have you thought yo check the condition of your battery? Unless it just coincidence, I've found on a few occasions with my D3 that if I haven't used the car for a few weeks, that the radio and screen don't come alive until a few miles into the journey. Perhaps once the battery is is being charged up. 2022 BMW i4 M50. Bought Oct 2022. 10,200 miles and counting...

so thankfully it was simply the header audio unit and there are plenty of JLR items available on EBAY for circa GBP 100, feels like a new car
