Discojkp - One week on

I took delivery of my Silver CRD 'S' last week and after 500miles, the only thing to say is, why the hell did I not buy one of these before now.

Well impressed with the overall package and from my last few cars, (Imprezas, Evo's) a world apart from from what I'm used to. Comfortable, high road presence the pull in 3rd and 4th is very good, especially for a 3tonne vehicle.

My only concern at the moment is a draft within the cab on my upper left leg when moving along. I cannot for the life of me find where it is coming from Question Sad

Washing it was also an experience. Step ladder to wash the roof Shocked I think the local wash and go place will see me more often.

Upper leg support on the seat is poor. Lowering the seat to it's low limits seems to give some support, as I'm quite tall this is where I normally would have it. So no issue of the lowering seat phenomenon Wink

Fuel Shocked Shocked Went in to fill it for the first time with 1/4 tank. £30...£40...£50....£60...is there a bloody hole under there....£71 for 3/4 tank Thud Although averaging 25mpg'ish is still double what I was getting from my Evo...so overall I'm quids in, apart from actually filling the Censored up. The Evo only had an 11 gallon tank.

I've also found myself looking at small tracks and side roads thinking..."I could get up there!!" Feeling I'm getting obsessed with Mud Embarassed Ooeer!!

Now looking forward to my freebie day out in Perth and getting in some offroad. Rockingham looks to be very good from the photos on here.

There's a vent under the steering wheel that may be the source of your draft. BP

For the draught, check the vent on the panel under the steering wheel, it may be open. Great for keeping your 'nether regions' cool in summer!

Cheers guys.

I've checked the steering vent and it's closed, with no flow evident against the back of my hand.

'CRD' ?? I though that was the model designate, as thats whats on the V5. Tdi is so common Laughing

There does seem to be a few fellow Scots on here.

Anyone ever try the offroad 'field' up north...Nor-trak, I think it's called??

I got confused too, when looking at the v5 & talking to the insurance companies. They list it as CRD.

It would be nice if those lovely LR people might better differentiate the base models- I had a couple of very confusing discussions with insurance call centre people when defining exactly what model of car I had. "Base 7" and "base 5" are not on their lists!

-and anything that gets us even remotely confused with a Jeep product is not particularly good in my book

Had it since new - sold Jun 17 after 12 years and 214,000 miles
