Wow thanks for all that info mate ! Really helpful. Yeah I’ve just realised they tell you to do that. I’ve put it on with the old ones for a minute. I think it’s probably due to the torque setting. The rear bolts are 275nm.

I need some help. Looking at the driver side of the engine and have only now noticed the mess on the pipework. Zip ties, odd brackets etc. Bits hanging off. Has anyone got pics or info as to how all this lot should be fixed held and look ? Thumbs Up

Also are these breathers for the gearbox and transfer box suppis d to stop here ?

hmmm … by "patched" do they mean pre-coated with thread-lock paste ? they say use new bolts for seatbelt retaining bolts but I have it on good authority you don't need to … just add some Loctite or similar.

However, as someone who "celebrated" his second ever car getting to 90000 miles by doing 90mph only to have his newly re-fitted propshaft drop off (back end first luckily !!! ) about a minute later, I'd say YES to fitting new bolts in this instance.

That small pump hanging loose I think that’s for the FBH

I tried reusing propshaft bolts and they sheared off before getting anywhere near the right torque.

Ok so what a day I’ve had....

Changed rear anti roll bar bushes. Easy enough.

Replaced rear upper arms. Sorry gstuart I know this will be painful but it was a 15 minute job and that was for both sides... all the bolts were copper slipped. What worries me is that one side bush appears to be different to the other. Pics to follow.

Been looking at the crossover pipe that I had re made. Took it off the “wynjig mk1” and heard a rattle. Not good. Having chopped the flex joints off another one I’ve got I’ve realised that there’s a reason these things are so expensive. There is a lot going on for such a short pipe. The long and short of it is that the pipe is twin walled for a start and that it has cone shaped pieces inside to guide exhaust flow. The “flexy” is actually made in layers like an onion. I’ve abandoned the first one and am taking the next one to a well known aftermarket stainless exhaust manufacturer to replace the joints.

Also today I managed to bag a bargain with a set of brembo front calipers from the bay and while I was in there ordered a large dinitrol kit. I’ve had a look at the myriad shultz, waxoil etc I’ve got laying around and decided it wasn’t worth the hassle so just ordered the kit. Whistle
