Just got an exide 17 from euro car parts thanks to this thread
Just one Q - is there anywhere to put the vent pipe? Can't spot anywhere obvious - perhaps this battery doesn't have one??
Cheers.

my new exide looks like it as a small bung in a hole where the breather pipe should go,
since fiitting the new battery, the big F as gone off the dash and the bonnet open warning as gone off, the new battery as worked wonders for the D3

Mine too - so did you just leave the breather pipe unplugged?

Gel batteries are not all they are cracked up to be! I purchased a brand new style battery from Landrover dealer last July to replace the one on my 07 HSE.
2 weeks ago, car wouldn't start battery flat. Thought I must've left something on, but no. After two or three more events I take it back to the dealer....battery is not holding the charge. £240 and it lasted 7 months!!*now enjoying* D5 Namib Orange HSE 68

Get the exide 017 from euro car parts the 1 with the 4 year gty works out about £78 with discount code ukpas25 it exceeds the spec of the original and fits a treat
The gen lr one is now an agm battery they have been designed for stop start technology and the like they are very expensive and lr won't supply 1like that was fitted originally to your disco
I bought the Exide 017 EB950 (800A, 95Ah) battery from Euro Car Parts but it didnt even last 2 years. Within 2 years it was holding about 650A / 12.24V and that was with a brand new genuine Alternator and daily driving.
The battery simply wouldn't hold any more charge than this when tested (after removing surface charge)
