Discovery 3 electric mirrors

Can anyone help...the electric/folding mirrors on my 06 SE have stopped working. They do fold, but I cannot alter their position up/down or left/right. I have checked fuse No 33 , which is ok. Any ideas ????......

Do they still auto dip (if you've got it turned on) in reverse and return when you go back into neutral?

If they do, it sounds like the switch could be faulty. If they don't, check there's a good connection where the loom passes between the door and the body.

could be the drivers memory seat module then. I have mine replaced on my 06 D3 in 2007 under warranty - there was a TSB for it. it may not be your problem, but worth checking :

TSB LTB00042 issued 16th March '07
All Vehicles With Memory Mirrors VIN- range: 5A300394-7A427985

Summary:
A customer may complain of any of the following conditions:
1. Memory mirrors in the incorrect position after unlocking and entering the vehicle.
2. Memory mirrors not returning to their correct driving position after a reverse
manoeuver has been completed and the gear selector has been moved out of reverse.
3. On vehicles with manual transmission, if the gear position is left in reverse and the
ignition switched 'OFF' (and the vehicle enters sleep mode) when the ignition is next
switched 'ON' and the gear selector moved away from reverse, the mirrors incorrectly
remain in the dipped position. On the next reverse gear cycle the mirrors will recover and
will return to the correct driving position.
4. On vehicles with the 'Lazy Entry' feature enabled, the following sequence will result in
the mirrors incorrectly moving to the dipped position:
a) Ignition 'ON'.
b) Select reverse gear - mirrors move to dipped position.
c) Ignition 'ON' - auxiliary.
d) De-select reverse gear - mirrors move to driving position.
e) Lock the vehicle.
f) Unlock the vehicle - mirrors move to the dipped position (INCORRECT).
5. On vehicles with the lazy entry feature enabled, there is an issue with the normal
driving position drifting. Repeating the following sequence for a number of cycles will
result in a drift:
a) Ignition 'ON'.
b) Select reverse gear (mirrors move to dipped position).
c) Deselect reverse gear (mirrors move to driving position).
d) Ignition 'ON' - auxiliary - key-in - key-out.
e) Lock the vehicle.
f) Unlock the vehicle.
g) Key in - auxiliary.
6. On vehicles with manual transmission, if the gear position is left in reverse (mirrors
dipped) and the ignition is turned 'OFF'. If the ignition is then turned 'ON' and the engine
cranked, and the gear selector is moved out of reverse (whilst still cranking), the mirrors
do not return to the driving position.
NOTE: All other mirror issues other than those described in the Summary will require
further investigation. To be carried out as a separate Warranty Claim.
NOTE: The mirrors may be repositioned using the normal mirror adjustment functionality.
Cause: Some sequences of ignition cycles/gear positions (involving reverse) can cause
the control software within the seat module to become confused and loose the
mirror memory position, or learn an incorrect driving position.
Action: Should a customer express concern, install a new driver seat module.

This is an old post but worth a shot.

I have the same problem on my HSE D3. The seat & mirrors did work & autodip in reverse & now nothing.

Did you get this fixed & what was it?

Regards

Chris.

Door mirrors / seats

Try removing fuse no. 54, in the fuse box situated in the passenger glovebox, to reset the system. The fault re-occurs with my D3 quite frequently, but the fuse removal works every time. You should hear a clicking noise from the unit beneath the drivers seat, when the fuse is re - inserted. Try and let me know......regards.....nptboy2

No joy

Alas made no difference replacing fuse 54.

I also tried replacing 33 & 48 but still nothing.

Same thing, due to a faulty wife; too short! Seat goes back and forwards a lot, lose cables underneath, which is where the memory module is. Take the front plate off an see if you can find the culprits. Hint, have one person do the mirror switch while another wiggles cables. Hope it helps.

Thanks Maxmax

I'm sure a faulty wife is be blame for many things Very Happy but I will certainly take the plate off & have wiggle. I did look at the back of that unit but not the front.

Dear all

I also have a problem with my seat memory, which shows the following trouble code:
ECU: Body Control
CODE:B1B85
Memory control module
(PERMANENT)
No mirrow movements possible. Only folding works fine. The seat adjustment motors works for half a second after touching a switch. So reffering to the systems describtion there could be a problem with the connection to the BCM.
I checked the wires under the seat for damages. Unfortunately nothing visible. Also moving the wires doesn't help.
Anybody there who is familiar with this trouble?
