Discovery 3 running on red deisel

Hi guys just a quick question to you all

I made a delivery today to a farm and notice the D3 on the farmers drive 2008 HSE Thumbs Up , got taking as you do and he told me he runs it on RED DEISEL.
So my question is does running on red deisel damage the car any way and would it screw up your warranty?
thanks for any replies

Wrecks 'em. If the fuel doesn't do it (and it does - there are documented cases of injector and pump damage from using red) the HMCE will.
I know it's not considered "kind" to say no these days, but no. Just no, ok? And if it's not ok, still no.

Tony,
It has been discussed comprehensively in this thread.

Be aware, a large increase in HMCE, police and vosa, Trading standards around at the moment. Red deisel will also leave a residue for up to 8 weeks after first being put in a non - authorised vehicle Thumbs Up

I got stopped today as a routine check, you know the type, where they check your lights are working, that you have a steering wheel, doors, and oh yes, measuring the tyre tread on my nearly new MTR's 8)

They were going to check my diesel (I would of asked for a rebate for the few millilitres the VOSA chap was going to take) but instead they just had a butchers of my fuel reciept from yesterday showing the princly sum of £96.

Maybe just carrying a few reciepts is your first line of defence? Not that I would condone the use of the old red stuff.

In The Netherlands they will try to get a sample from somewhere close to the engine, just to be sure that you don't have 2 fuel tanks. And yes the red dye stays long in the diesel. (no personal experience but was in the car) Whistle
