^^^ my son found it & he bought it really, does not look as though there is carnage under the bonnet I suspect electrical related issues, who knows till we plug & play about. I would like to have a bit of context with its life though.
Unfortunately it is a York pick up so a long round trip

Got one since 2008. It's a Zermatt Silver SE 07 MY. Only problems were front and rear diffs (flaking inner paint) and the usual upper and lower arm bushes+joints.
Best regardsRegards, Robert

Interesting bit of kit, if you want to hear the full V8 sound track. Made in USA and also comes with a fob remote so you can open or close it from the drivers seat or anywhere else within range. No issues with MOT either.

I‘m interested in the other way round. Is there a kit that makes my V8 sound like an electric car?

Still here, but nearly went over to the 'diesel side'.
Very tempted by a D4 SDV6, but caught myself on. To many possible problems like HPFP, turbo failures etc and many other thing we don't have to worry about.
A problem with dodgy steering, which I finally tracked down to the lower steering shaft and fixed, was fuelling the push to change. But I'm here to stay and my next job is hopefully a rear diff rebuild.

But will it fit?
Just out of interest I see there are plenty of M62 engines about does anyone know if they can be fitted & replace AJ8?D3 2.7 Zermatt silver (not another one)

Added one more sticker to the rear

It looks better directly from behind need to remove the old D3 sticker that’s partially hidden by the ladder

Well, a sad day. Pondered it on and off but now decided that I will be selling her.
She doesn't get used enough as it is, and with a company 4x4 on the way I can't justify keeping it.
Trying to work out whether to do a couple of jobs like the AC compressor or just send her off as she is. Either way, I have a few weeks to make the most of her!

Looking at possibly joining you guys soon with a V8
What are the things to be wary of for petrol specific? Obviously diesel is cambelts, oil pump etc.

Not much really. The engine is very trouble free and pleasant to drive.
PCV valve is useful to replace if in doubt whether it’s ever been done. Sparkplugs are part of the schedule below. Make sure the front diff breather has been changed to a D4 style one (but this would equally apply for a TDV6).
Take a look at the maintenance schedule https://www.roverparts.com/account/mainten...IT1050.pdf. It contains more than the JLR sheet. IMO all extras are useful... as we are all in Europe, ignore their part codes and figure out what you need.

The indy I use said a few years ago that the self-tightening timing chain is care free until you hear it rattle at start. At that point they had D3s driven over 400k km and original chains as customers.
(if you hear a D4 V8’s chains rattle it means the plastic tensioners are on the way out and unless you want to experience catastrophic failure it’s time to replace them to the uprated ones)
