Discovery 3 Warranty Cover Companies?
Hi everyone,
when i purchased this car, the seller told me to get a warranty on the car as the repairs on it are not cheap.
I thought i would get it now, im sure most of you if not atleast some do have a warranty in place for these high maintenance cars, could someone please give me some advice on what company to use, what they do use and have had no issues with?
would really really appreciate some help and would be very thankful!!
I have used Warranty Direct for 5 years with no complaints - only 2 claims, so they got a good deal !

Hi,
I was going to say that the issues you may have is the age of yours for a new policy
I have been looking at WD to follow on from the L/R approved (carcare )
but I would want mastercare which they will upgrade to from securecare as that then covers suspension ect, but the cost was still more than I was comfortable with
so its pot of money time and end of the year swmbo may get a holiday or the car may get repairs if needed
i'm just bitter about the way they seem to look for a way out of paying first before looking at how to get the repair done.
The Volvo had an ABS fault, the rings on the drive shaft had cracked. The garage that they sent it to, MAN Trucks said it need 2 new drive shafts £600.00 plus labour after a quick call to volvo i found out you can buy the ABS rings for £32.00 after pointing out this and the money i was saving them the said as it was the abs ring they would not pay for it as it was not covered but if i wanted they would still replace the drive shafts then the prat on the other end of the phone started been rude to my wife and got her in tears so i complained and they did agree to pay of the rings but not the bloody sensor that it had damaged so the car still didnt work.
They wanted to send the Disco to Halfords to get them to look at it, last time I used Halfords was for an MOT and they couldn't do it as they said the Disco was to heavy for their lift
I know a lot of people on here only have good words for warranty direct but now the Disco is too old for them and covered too many miles so i'll be doing the work myself2006 D3 HSE

Search here for "Warranty Direct" for more information, particularly levels of cover, and advice not to accept the first figure they give you.

With any warranty you will need to read the wording very carefully.
Just because stuff is worn doesnt mean its worn out so naturally they wont pay because its still working!
We had a warranty on a bmw fifteeen odd years ago a/c fault so much hassle that since then we have never had a warranty on anything, none of this extended warranty on white goods as they are now so cheap whats the point? just get a new one.

I am in the market, or will be in March, for an extended warranty and have looked at so many different companies that I am nearly cross eyed.
However I have been offered and looking at their cover, have decided to take up Motoreasy.
They appear to cover more than WD and the top premium is £500+ cheaper.
I am not considering it for the price but all the extras included.
My vehicle is D4 SE Tech and will be three YO in March and will have about 35k on the clock then.
Any thoughts ?
