Because you're all a bunch of whinging jessies?
My D3 has never let me down once in nearly 5 years and I've given it some stick (none of this posing in the snow for photos lark)......
For me it's probably been the most reliable car I've owned......and yes - you did read that right (and I've had a BMW, VW(s), Audi(s), Ford and Peugeot in the past)
If I were to (win the lottery and) buy another car tomorrow, it would definitely be a D4 or possibly a RRS or an Evoque if it were a second car.....I have no doubts about it despite your doom and gloom 8) 8)
Although I do think I'm probably in a minority and probably with good reason 2006 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE AutoBuckingham Blue 2007 Golf GT DSG

Hope you've got all fingers crossed! There's a 3 letter word that has "y" at the beginning, "t" at the end and "e" in the middle.

(D4 is still in the running, though )The next American ex-pat that calls it a "truck" is going to find out what 2.7 tons feels like on their foot...

Ah but it's a LR, you're supposed to accept that as the price for driving an example of the marque. Whilst, when they are working well, they are the best car in the world, you reach the point of having had enough of the hassle, costs and the car spending weeks and weeks and weeks and weeks at the dealers. As it sez below, I have the best of both worlds, a D3 and a reliable car.

I quite like the D3 and the D4, I hear horror stories of unreliability and horrendous fix after fix to the point you timeshare with the dealer.
I haven't had any real big issues with my D3 yeah ok they are heavy on brake disks (I could have just left that sentence at heavy lol) and the epb is pointless I would have preferred a handbrake no matter that it would consume a little more space. To be honest I've had no more issues than any other car I've owner including my past Landy's.
I have a friend with the VW 'Toerag' and while it is quite a pretty car it just doesn't do it for me. Maybe thats the Landrover loyalist in me or maybe I just hate change

I used the BM yesterday because it's a nice new car with the new leather smell and it's not caked in mud from Belg/Lux/Germany offroading.
