Hi I'm needing new discs and pads all round on my 2011 discovery 4 GS 3.0
I'm wondering which kit is the best to go for as it's still under warranty up don't want to pay stealer prices and can do the work myself
And a lot of the site members recommend you!!
Also do we get a discount if we're members?

Well worth doing BREXIT - done properly.
Right now ...We need Government - not Politics
Save the Dipstick Flagbearer-keep it simple, less likely to fail campaign-agenda items:Starting Handles, Acetylene Lamps.

Unfortunately, a V8 upgrade on a D4 would be a downgrade...

What's the difference in size, type number of pots in the calpers ? Between a D3 - D4 ?
I realise that some attributes of a D4 are better or different to a D3 other than bling......
can D4 brakes be fitted to a D3 ?......if not why not ?
Do D4 brakes have the same performance as a D3 life wise ? i.e. don't live that long or is it just better braking...... Are they significantly better than a V8 upgrade

D4 discs/calipers are bigger than standard D3 hence there are very few 18 inch wheels that will fit (in fact only one type I believe compolotive or something).
D4 discs and pads last a whole lot longer than D3, in my D4 I was up to 40k or so before needing new pads, mainly because I had neglected them so they were jammed up. A considerable increase in life over my D3, especially considering my D3 was a manual and you could use gears instead of brakes for minor braking.
D4 pads do cost a fair bit more than D3 for OEM, but do have probably double the life if you do some maintenance maybe 6 monthly. They do also work a whole lot better.
If you can change bits over, I would imagine you would need calipers and carriers, maybe someone needs to do a Wee trial they do look the same, just bigger. Joined the BMWX5 45e group

Thanks. TRW have a lot of OE content on the Discovery. The Brembo one you refer to has been back ordered the last few months.
The TRW discs are high carbon content (better heat dissipation) and the hubs are pre-painted in Black so I am sure you will be very happy with these. Paul Redding
