Rather than a link as usually happens. Is it that the site doesn't like the exclamation marks?

I just viewed it by copying the link but without the [url] ... [/url] bits at each end, should be able to edit the post and delete them
Funny vid by the way, amazing how some people are oblivious to all the flashes going on Clive

You both miss my point. I know the link works if you cut and paste it, what I am saying is I can't turn it into a clickable link in a forum post by adding the url tags before and after it as you would normally do - the site just displays the link text with the tags (as displayed in the OP).

Already tried that - it doesn't work. The forum only treats the first part (up to the first exclamation mark) as the link.
The reason it wants you to log on is because the forum software has not treated it as all one link (you can see that because only part of it is underlined).
Its a forum issue, not an issue with the link per se (which is why the OP is in the site feedback forum)

This is a Martin question tbh ...but I suspect the site code doesn't favour the redirect in the link for some reason. 21 year LR veteran > D2 GS 2003 > D3 S 2006 > D3 HSE 2009 > D4 HSE 2013 > D4 HSE 2015 > D5 HSE 2018 > DS HSE R-Dynamic P300e 2021
fixed with a bit of work around

Thanks CDS will use your workaround for now in the post that I wanted to make. Would still like to know what it is on the forum that prevents it from working properly though.

Thanks Martin, I did think that it might be something to do with the exclamation marks
