Looking at the LR OE Dog guard, it is described as "Dog Guard-Cargo Barrier Full Length" and the brochure appears to show a barrier that covers not just the space above the 2nd row seats but also goes down to floor level.
Has anyone used this , as it appears the full height style restricts the flexibility of being able to have the dog guard in place but still fold down the rear seats to fit those inevitable long "B&Q" style purchases into the car (assuming the bottom doesn't hinge in some way?). TLO has given a good price on the item, but I'm concerned as to its flexibility of use. so wondering what others on the forum have been using.

I have the shi tpart half length one for exactly the reasons you posted - if I need to get anything long in the boot I can just fold the seats down. The quality is ok, but one of the knobs that attaches it to the bootspace tie-down hooks stripped its thread and I'm using a 300TDi discovery door handle mount as a temporary replacement 2014 D4 XS

Any ideas as to a supplier of the half length one?

The full length dog guard does indeed stop you loading anything long and dropping a middle seat or three. You can still drop the seats, but you can't pass anything through.
The dog guard does come out pretty easily by with just 4 or six thumb screws. it does not fold though, which I think is a bit odd, but I guess it makes it stronger. I bought one from Wiggs a few weeks ago, I only really wanted it so that I can load the boot right up and not worry about kit flying forwards into the kids. Most of the time it won't be in the boot, but will be chained and padlocked to the Expo rack in the garage.D3 HSE MY05 Auto

Its a cargo barrier, and the LR dog guard comes extra.
Both in situ.
Right pain if you need longer lengths inside, as you cannot lower the barrier, and with both installed you cannot use seats 6 & 7.
