hi asbestross
car looking good
just wondering what the new cowel arms etc cost and from where as going to refresh that bit myself soon
cheers
Hi Ceekay,
The cowel was about £60 (available from all the parts websites), the arms were £50 new from eBay, the blades were £42 new and the caps were only a few quid. I followed the video in the previous post (GFE) and it took about half an hour. My wiper arm puller was invaluable (also only a few pounds from eBay). Links below, cheers.

Spot lights
Was wanting to fit spot lights to my D3, but didn’t want them sticking out.
So, bought a second hand grill, modified it so that the spot lights(when I get them) fit into the grill.
Next step is to make some spot light mounts that fit behind the grill.
Anyone got any spot lights for sale - 6”

Fixed the fuel flap lock.
Had heart failure the other morning when I walked outside to find my fuel flap open.
Local Village Fair had been on across the road from me and I suspected someone had stolen fuel.
When I couldn't see any fuel stains, then thought maybe someone had put dirt/rocks in the tank.
Couldnt see any traces though.
Turns out that my son had bumped into it coming home late the previous night... (Don't ask!! )
Luckily it turned out to be a 5 minute fix. Actuator cable had come loose from where it fits into the housing for the locking pin.2008 D3 HSE Stornoway Grey (UK)

Luckily it was rear left outer so no need to remove bumper 👍 just reach under and once you realise how it comes out it's pretty easy 👌 basically pull from inside and push it through from outside!

Deep clean of the interior today...hoovered out, mats washed, intensive clean and conditioner on all the leather. Seats haven’t been done for a while and came up really well, with little or no shine (as did the steering wheel)
Neither the interior or exterior look like they’ve done 100k so very pleased 8)

Fitted new track rod ends and lower front wishbones and then took it in to have 4 wheel alignment done.

Struts done, a simple 5 minute job (after checking with Disco Mikey about the clips, which were hidden behind all the crud )

Yeah, you’re not kidding....I’ve got used to the lazy original ones that I’ve just replaced, where nothing happens
