Started doing the fuel tank strap.... (After fixing a puncture on our VW T5 following a rescue by the Wife for a puncture on my MTB)
Snapped one bolt that was half out and had to be centred drilled to remove. Levered another chassis bolt through that was seized solid so need to find a new chassis insert and realised that the slight clunk I can hear is because there is no centre bearing left on the prop . (I thought it was the weights at the rear..doh)

I have this hatred for chrome on cars especially land rovers, I’ve been wanting to paint the side air vent the same as car since I got her, also the rear wiper arm was very dull & the paint was pitted, below are pictures of parts off car
What did you paint the rear arm with? Mine is looking really tired
Hi I painted mine with the body colour (Java Black), took it off removed the wiper blade & rubbed down with 1200 grit wet & dry, then 3 coats of primer & 3 coats of black, I did not have any lacquer so in time it might fade a bit. This was just spray cans from Halfords ( the large ones) waited for a nice warm day & voila.

How are you finding the job so far?
I’ve never done a timing belt myself- I’ll do most other things.
I’m 90% set on letting a specialist do my belts - but I’ve got that 10% niggle wondering if I should have a go..Defender 110 2.4 TDCi Utility Station Wagon.

it has not been too bad . i needed a bit of help how to remove the oil pump the starter was a pain .the rest is just nut and bolt stuff . i have done a lot of belts on various cars over the years starting with 60s vauxhalls this is probably the one where the most parts need to be taken off to do it .

Changed the fuel filter (MY07) today but the ignition prime didn’t work for me so I had too bleed via the schrader valve, she started fine afterwards though. Can anyone help re how tight the filter feels once it been refitted? I’ve followed the alignment guide and its lined up with the housing mark and its seated ok but it doesn’t feel that tight. It could be just my nerves though as it was my first time changing it myself.
Any help / suggestions most welcome 2007 D3 TDV6 XS - GONE

Started it, moved it a bit, put a LROI sticker on the rear window & a national trust sticker in the front window. Re parked and painted the back fence.

Added some switches for gadgets while awaiting delivery of new tyres.
Fixed some rattles, used a large door mat to stop stuff sliding about the upper boot rack for example.
