Key fob case
I decided enough was enough with one of my key fobs, after the switch covers were worn through and likely to let in moisture. I bought a £5 case off the bay and swapped everything over. It took a bit longer than I expected to find something small and strong enough to help me drift out the pin attaching the key blade. Once the blade was re-fitted it was a five minute job to do the rest. Should be good for a few more years service.

Hardly been on here for ages, or done anything with our D4 this past year, whilst mad busy working from home. Decided to catch up on a fair few things yesterday in prep. for the next MoT. After a very productive (and long!) afternoon I managed to replace the rear prop-shaft, front pads & discs, front roll-bar drop links and bushes, inner & outer track rods/ends, wiper blades and a knackered front washer jet. Finally swapped back to the summer wheel/tyre combo. too!
Stopped short of doing the front lower arms as 1) the kit I got from AF had the wrong, older 32mm hub nut included & 2) I was knackered. Something for a coming weekend…Cheers,
Gareth

A relatively simple job, but I removed the 2 front fog lights, the glass of which had gone foggy inside, removed the bulbs, and then with a cloth sprayed with glass cleaner plus a wooden rod (to direct where the cloth was within the fog light) cleaned the inside of the glass of the fog lights. There were a few stubborn marks which I had to use the eraser at the end of a pencil to shift.

Fitted the rear air con bypass pipe and
treated the old bus to a nice new Yuasa battery, been having the special prog unavailable message occasionally appear on start up for a few weeks and as the current battery is over 5 years old decided to fit a new one.

Fitted a set of LED welcome lights. My D3 is a HSE but guessing wing mirror welcome lights was an option the first owner didn’t want, having looked I could see the markings int he bottom of the mirror where the plastics cut to fit them so ordered a set of upgrade led lights, out came the dremmel and fitted them, tied them into the bottom door puddle lights. Very clear, and I’m surprised on how much of the floor they light up, not bad for £13 and a couple of hours

ARB winch bumper
I had a detachable winch setup on my D3, but was not happy with it for two reasons:
It protrudes a lot and the main reason: the reciever although a original Warn, wears very quick, causing rattling
So…. I bought a ARB winch bumper, i like the looks and did bite the Bullet, when i did found out that one of my motorcycleparts wholesale suppliers also sells ARB so at a wholesale price and without VAT for me not too expensive…
I Started this week, removing the old LR bumper…
Mounted the ARB bumper provisionally yesterday, testing the lights..
Today it looks like this..

Needs finishing and final adjustment now…
Since the formula 1 race with MAX on pole is starting now at this very moment, that finishing has to wait 2 hours now Best regards

Upgraded the old Warn lights with some more Stedi Bunny Burners - can't say how good these lights are.
I am a Lazer fan as their products are second to none but stedi pack a serios punch for the money.

After lying about for months going nowhere had to service the brakes as even after a short journey could have cooked sausages on three of the discs. All sorted now!Once you have defeated the idiots any job is half done. Pity there are so many idiots to defeat.
