United Kingdom 2011 Discovery 4 3.0 SDV6 GS Auto Zermatt SilverDiscovery 4
Do I or don't I? Whats it worth?

I still haven’t decided what to do, but I am trying to get all the info I can in order to make a decision!

How much do you think my Disco is worth? This will be paramount in my decision. It is on finance, but I can either clear it before collection or you can pay the finance company direct.
All details below.
2011 11 plate Discovery 4 GS SDV6
101,000 miles
New engine fitted as we speak, comes with a 12 month warranty from Tim Fry, Landrover specialists in Cheltenham.
2 previous owners
6 speed auto
Full service history-some Landrover and some well recognised specialists
Cambelts and tensioners replaced in 2018
LOADS of upgrades, almost an HSE
Full leather HSE interior, electric heated seats, heated steering wheel.
Heated front and rear screen
Piano black trim and mood lighting
Ice cold air con
2016 Valeo (OEM) xenon headlights
2016 front grille
Since I have owned it, it has had:
All new discs and pads
New lower arms
New drop links
New cross over pipe
New callipers all round
New front wheel bearings
Intermediate oil changes
Gearbox mega flush by Bodsy
Front and rear diff oil changed
Transfer box oil changed
Detachable towbar in excellent condition, stored in the car with key
Currently has a Lenovo Tab3 fitted in the dash (looks OEM) but can return to the “normal” GS radio if required
19” wheels with winter tyres (also have a set of 500 mile old Disco 5 wheels with summers on, available by negotiation)
Also has a Xanadoo upper boot basket fitted, also available by negotiation
Lets be clear, I have loved and pampered this car. There is of course marks in line with its age and there was a snorkel fitted so there are some marks on the front wing where it was.
Until the engine went, it was utterly reliable. It has taken me to the Alps in France a lot and never had an issue.

Realistic answer - not as much as you'd hope for Big Cry

Going off asking prices in the For Sale section here somewhere between these two values:
2013 GS £14K and XS 2010 £8K

Might be worth thinking about stripping some out of the HSE kit out if selling as you'll only get GS money for it Question

If it was me - I'd be keeping it Thumbs Up

They are never worth as much as you'd hope, but I am a realist!

Thanks

Something to factor into the reasoning - if you sold it what would you get to replace?

Another Discovery may have the same issue with the engine going "pop"

You know what you have spent on it, how reliable it is, what little niggles it has and whatever you replace it with will potentially bring a new set of problems.

Assuming the list of niggles is relatively low and with the bonus of having a replacement engine (with 12 months warranty but see Disco Mikey's comment about where the replacement engine came from) I would be inclined to keep.

Just my two pennies worth Smile [/b]

United Kingdom

Put it this way... I've just bought my 2011 61 plate XS spec + factory reverse camera for £13200 from a car supermarket.
Fsh with LR and a specialist, 97k on the clock, but missing its last sevice and belts invoice.

I've just paid out £1200 for service and belts and have done a mild front end facelift.

GS were typically selling for about 2k less so you could be at £10-11k for yours as a GS

The HSE extras etc may make it more sellable/desirable but wont really add value unfortunately
