Would a double mattress fit in the boot? |
|
Search function reveals that lots of people have stuck double camping mattresses in their boot, however, for the purposes of moving house... Can anyone advise if a full size UK domestic mattress fits at an angle into the load space? Length looks OK but not sure about width. My double mattress is fairly firm so not much give for bending..
Curious to know if anyone has tried / managed it?!
Thanks,

Transported a complete bed with five foot wide mattress - bit of a tight squeeze but yes it does go in. LR Discovery 4 XS pulling an Airstream 532 Caravan also own (since new) a 1996 MGF

Yes I’ve put a 5’ mattress in at an angle. A very firm one that was probably at least a foot high. Quite a squeeze in but it fitted door closed

standard "double" is only 4'6" so if these guys are saying 5' goes … you're sorted!

yep, had standard double in at an angle - a bit of pushing and shoving to get through the opening.

Used a double blow up mattress on nc500 this year to sleep in the back.
Not sure if there is a difference in the sizes but fitted perfectly.

We recently fitted a new Ikea king size mattress in the boot. We had to remove all the cardboard packaging, and enlist some help from a couple of passing students, but it went in.
