Got two removable tow bars, one with a MaxxRaxx bike rack clamp attached (used a couple of times on my old D3 but not used on the D4 yet) and the new one in the D4 that has not seen any use yet.

As to the offer, let me think... err no thanks Rolling with laughter Thumbs Up

Stuff like DPF,CAT's,EGR's all have a tendency to fall off or turn into straight bits of pipe around my house. That would be the joys of it NEVER going to see an MOT examiner or needing any form of emission testing. Thumbs Up

When the burn off occurs, do you notice it in the car (i.e. a noise or an impact on performance)? In other words, can you tell when it happens

I have noticed it a couple of times when I have come off the motorway and stopped at traffic lights on slip road. There is a smell of hot metal or at least a strange smell. Not noticed any performance issues.

dealer fix is to replace

spoke to engineer from lr about it and on later models they have a more active cleaning cycle..use mine in stop start traffic most of time without issue
It is better to have and not need it then need and not have it.

Well, that was easy! Drove up to J30 of the M1 as I was going to J28 anyway but didnt think one junction would be long enough. Just as I joined the M1 the warning light went out Laughing to be honest it probably took 15 minutes to get there. Car behaved normally, no extra sounds but there was a slight smell (faint whiff of rotten eggs - no other cars around at that time) for about 30 secs after the light went off.

Bringing an old topic back to life here . . .

In the Channel Islands we currently have the heaviest snowfall for 30 years. This afternoon it took me three and a half hours to drive five miles home and (Sods Law) the DPF warning came on for the last hour and a half of the journey. So, any advice as to how I can sort this out with a 35mph limit and 8 inches of snow & slush would be most welcome. Confused

Thanks in advance, John.

Can the DPF just be removed with a bit of electronic trickery to fool the car pooter systems? See it a fair bit on BM forums, wondered if done on the D3s & D4s. Question

Try this, you have a Wurth Rep on Guernsey, he may have some on his van. Failing that, there are 2 on Jersey if you go across?

That's a difficult one.

When mine was full I decided to go for a run down the M1, but because of an incident could not get to J29.
Decided to go to J28, took about 20 minutes to get there and the maximum speed I got up to was 40mph but 2 minutes before I got to the M1 the DPF light went out. Only thing I noticed when I parked up was there was a lot of heat coming from the rear of the car!
