The User Manual stipulates Castrol SAF - XO oil for non-slip differentials and Castrol SAF Carbon Mod Plus for electronic torque managed differentials.
Firstly, I am not sure if the 2007 Disco 3 TDV6 SE have any electronic torque managed differentials. and if so, I would assume it is the rear diff.
I have been looking around in the Port Shepstone and Margate areas, KwaZulu Natal, and can only find the Castrol SAF - XJ variety. According to Castrol the SAF - XJ can be used for slip AND non-slip diffs. Then I again assume that if you are not sure if your vehicle has the electronic torque managed diff or not it would be safe to use the SAF - XJ oil as Castrol reckons it is OK!
I need some clarity here and therefore I am asking the forum boffins for advice.
Any help will be appreciated.

Wessel,
All the SA spec D3's came out with the electronic rear diff lock, it is easy to spot.
Set the suspension to off road, go to the L.H.S rear wheel and look at the diff,
you will see what looks like an electric motor mounted on the diff L.H.S.
As for the lubs, I can't help, but it may be that they do have that spec and not
selling it in the open market. This is currently the case with the Castrol SLX
5W-30 engine oil, all the spares shops say that Castrol are not suppling, yet
we could get it in the past, some issue with the OEM's. You can try and contact
a LR teck to see what they what they use in the dealership. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.

Thank you for the feedback at least now I know and I will have a look to see the electric motor on the diff for myself.
At least I can get hold of the SAF - XJ oil for the electronic torque managed diff and I will still research the statement by Castrol that the SAF - XJ can also be used for the normal diff. That will make it easier as I do not have to buy too many different oils then.
Will let know the final outcome.

PSC,
Both these oils show up in the Russian LR parts site, but have not seen Edge in 5W30 yet, plenty 5W40.
I've only found the Magnatec in professional 5W30 so far. D3 bullbar-spots-roof rack with spots-ladder-long range tank-swing out spare wheel carrier- upgraded tow bar-dash console-internal water tank-duel awnings-drawer system & T T.
