| Drivers electric seat Dead |

Hi All,
I have just purchased a 2nd hand Disco 3 and one of the issues I have found on it is that the driver's electric seat is dead and the controls are totally unresponsive without any noise from the motor.
I've had a look at everything that I possibly could think of, including changed the driver's seat fuse and looked beneath the seat for any loose wirings, etc.. I did find something strange beneath the seat and it appears to be a flexible shaft drive ( Picture attached in images) that was attached to the motor end but not attached to anything else, although I would think that if it's this, it would not stop the motor from working, it just would not move the seat...
Any ideas of what it could be?
