Driver's seat + Central panel/Hard keys
Continuing the saga of my MY13 D4 HSE Lux!
As I posted elsewhere, when I picked my D4 up, I didn't even make it off the forecourt due to the driver's seat not being able to be adjusted. The dealer took it into the workshop and did some 're-crimping' - it then could be adjusted.
I headed for home, but 60 mins later, the seat had failed again, the analogue clock had stopped, non of the central panel hard keys worked and none of the electric windows worked.
It went back into the workshop, and they replaced the whole central unit / module and we' were back on the road again.
One week later, exactly the same thing has happened again. I think I'd tried adjusting the lumbar support when it went. Luckily all the windows were closed at the time!
I'll be on the phone to the dealer 1st thing on Monday morning, but has anyone had similar problems and any advice they can give me as to what might be the cause?
Thanks in advance D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Might be worth messaging Pete@lr on the LRCustomer services bit of the forum. If you PM him your vin number and dealership he may help or talk to someone.
I presume you dropped a large amount of dosh for this car and it sounds like they can't fix it? Was the car a demo or trade in? Presume it is a LR Authorised dealer.
Sounds like they have replaced a lot of kit not actually help.
Keep the post updated but I would definitely PM Pete.

Hi Sten. Thanks for your reply, and yes it's an LR Authorised Dealer - Marshalls of Lincoln. The vehicle was a trade in, but only just over a year old, so as you guessed, a large amount of dosh was deposited in their coffers!
I'll drop Pete a PM, and hope he can help sort it, as I really do love the vehicle - I just wish it didn't keep going wrong! Four visits to the workshop in six weeks isn't really what I paid all that dosh for D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Dudley,
Pete may be able to tell if it was had warranty work in the past as well. May help if it is a 'Friday afternoon' car that got thru the net. New it would have been almost £60K (or over) and even if Disco4's hold value the original owner may have chopped it in because it was niggly.
If it is was not right before you bought it LR should be helpful with sorting it once and for all or possibly help source you a similar vehicle.
LR were very good with help my fullfat when I contacted them thru the forum.
Cheers

Hi Sten, just a quick update. Rang the Sales Dept yesterday as Service was shut and they got me to call LR Assist. Dave turned up and found that the lumbar support on the driver's seat was U/S and had blown the driver's switch pack fuse. Replaced the fuse as a temp measure, so at least I could use the windows!
Having only got the car back from having new battery/BMS/software on Tuesday evening, and just having driven it for 7 hours, we were a bit surprised when Dave's SDD system wouldn't talk to the vehicle due to it having a Low Battery level! Told all this to the dealer who said they'd ring first thing today.
Needless to say, I hadn't heard anything by 11am, so PM'd Pete@LR, and sure enough, 30mins later got a call from the Service Manager arranging to get my car picked up
I've now got their sales demonstrator FL2 - which came with no windscreen washer fluid and broken wing mirror retraction system! I just hope it isn't an omen D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Good to hear you have got some response from the dealer.
FL2 - just to add to the insult....mind you I got an Ecoque...a FL2 would have been better.
Battery issues are always difficult but the seats and windows shouldn't fuse out when used!
I think having Pete involved will focus the mind of the dealer as they don't particularly want LR breathing down their necks as they look incompetent.
Good luck. And wing mirrors are overrated......

I'll probably get evicted from the party for this - but I have to admit that the FL2 HSE is rather nice! OK, not a patch on the Disco, but would be a nice motor for SWMBO
As for wing mirrors, that's why we have reversing cameras isn't it ? D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT

Well, after Pete's call to the dealer, I have to say that they really pulled out all the stops to get this problem fixed.
It turned out to be a chaffed +12V wire in the back of the driver's seat which was shorting to ground if you happened to be sitting in the 'wrong' position in the seat. This would then take out fuse No. 40 - Driver's switch pack etc. The other thing I learnt was that fuse 40 also feeds the supply to the BMS, so if it goes, the BMS stops working - which could explain why the battery wasn't charging properly.
All in all, the staff at Marshalls Lincoln couldn't have been nicer D4 MY14 XXV - RLD/IID BT
