Looking for some ideas as my cars are both a cv outer and now a driveshaft in just over 2 months.
Cv was changed as I could hear the click and faint wobble of the wheel at times, that was end of April.
Car has done just over 2000 miles of road miles and 1 green lane trip. The green lane trip saw it break something, and have bad wheel wobble on drive home. It wasn’t even a hard lane so it was all gentle driving.
Car went into local garage to be checked, diagnosis said cv was broken and driveshaft had play in it.
I had the shaft changed to rule out future issues as the car was apart so made sense.
Roll on about 350 miles and the click and wheel wobble has returned.
Taking car back to garage tomorrow but I don’t get how it’s been struck with the same possible failure.
It’s got new Timkin wheel bearings in as they were both done May last year.
It’s had 1 passenger side cv about 4 years ago which has never had issues since.
A brand new part shouldn’t fail so soon.
Any ideas for what could possibly be causing this?
The cars normally spot on for running as I use it for work and with a weeks holiday to Wales at the end of the month, I need this sorted.

If the CV had broken the car would not driven except if you were in Rock Crawl. So initial diagnosis of a broken CV was not correct - hence this did not fix the issue you were having.
Take your car to someone who knows what they are doing.

A worn cv will not make the wheel wobble?

wheel wobble is normally something out of balance - have you checked the centre bearing on the tail shaft

Wheel wobble can be generated by many things including:
badly not evenly worn tires
missing balancing wieghts on alloys
badly worn front disks and unevenly worn pads
midlle bearing on rear shaft mentioned
badly worn lower arm bushes can wobble your wheel as well

Hmm, so what would make the clicking noise while turning?
Propshaft was replaced 4 years ago with genuine part from TLO before he left.
Lower arms are genuine RRS one, no play in them.
Tyres were fitted 13th April, new Duratracs, 3rd set of these. Haven’t had any issues with them.
New pads front and back last October, it’s likely due new discs soon.
When the front left cv died, it made a horrible noise, and gave really bad wheel judder to the point it was undriveable and I got recovered home. After the off roading trip I had the same experience but it remained driveable though not a pleasant drive home.

A CV sure can make this feeling. When I bought my D3 it had on/off wheel wobble. It came after driving the car 20-30 miles, disappeared a few miles and came back etc. Felt like the whole wheel were loose or badly damaged. But couldn't find anything wrong with the wheels or suspension parts.
One day my right front CV fell apart in a sharp turn, the strange thing is that it didn't make this typically worn CV sound when turning. Only the wobble.
