I thought changing the headlight beam pattern was all done electrically Confused

This is from the 2016 D4 manual - I know it's a 2015 but I can't find that years manual.

HEADLAMPS - DRIVING ABROAD

The headlamps have a beam pattern that eliminates the need to mechanically adjust the lamps or add any external stick-on decals.

To configure the Auto high beam system for the side of the road on which you are driving, proceed as follows:

Using the menu control on the steering wheel, select Vehicle Set-Up via the Message centre.

Select Auto High Beam setting.

Select Drive on Left or Drive on Right, for the side of the road that you are driving.

Yes, like Woody, this is my understanding - the beam is "neutral". I do have the adaptive xenons on mine so it may depend on your MY and trim level.

All I do is change the "Drive on..." setting on the high beam assist menu. Whistle

Me personally wouldn’t be too worried…

No one will check you, chances you will annoy or blind some one is also very little..

If your motor can be adapted electronically and easy, that is Thumbs Up

But blinds/stickers/covers is quite a “waste” imho….

I see quite a few UK divers around here… most non blinded, the do not blind or even annoy me.
Me myself do visit the UK quite a lot… i did some checks with friends /friendly drivers…

They do not get blinded by me in my D3 (xenon/adaptive) (they say) so since then i drive in the UK with my continental D3 “as is” really i never get flashings, warnings, annoyance from other drivers, not on the motorway, not on smaller rural roads…. (Just 1,5 week back from a trip to Glastonbury area, we did some 2000 mls)

There may be someone saying here “ well Banging Head “ but i am quite sure you will never see someone complaining when you are here in NL Very Happy
 Best regards
Harold

Ps… Middachten Castle in De Steeg is NOT in Holland..

But in Gelderland…..

Holland does not even exist….

The Netherlands consists out of 12 provinces, only 2 of those have the name Holland as a part of their name.. all other 10 have totally different names…

For us it is like saying in the UK i am comming to Essex, when visiting Birmingham or likewise.. Big Cry
 Best regards
