Driving from Merseyside to Galicia in Espana
Hey guys. We are driving to Galicia in August in the Disco and I was just looking for some tips and advice really.
I'm going via the euro tunnel ( free thanks to TESCO) and I am planning on doing about 8 hours of driving a day as we have the little ones with us and there is only so much " ARE WE NEARLY THERE YET?" that one can handle. The car has sat nav plus Ive got a back up sat nav and and auxilury back up sat nav and google maps on both our phones. I've used via michellin for the route and a rough cost using the quickest route. SWMBO wants to get home to see her family asap!!!
I am planning on getting AA euro assistance cover too.
The original plan was to have a couple of stops and camp over night but the campsites, quite understandably want 2 to 3 days minimum bookings!
I've checked the AA website in relation to driving in Europe etc. Is there anything else I need to be thinking about?

did similar trip 11 months ago starting from Stockport - I think you'll need two stops though - I did it with one stop but was only going to Catalunya and 700 miles in one day (600 the next) was enough for me and my occupants (SWMBO and 3 teenage girls)Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

On the way out am stopping over in Walthamstow for about 4 hours to get a power nap and then on to Folkestone for the 0323 train. Figure we'll be able to make a bit of progress during the night!!!! Am looking to get down to Biarittz by the afternoon for a stop over then on to Galicia the following day.
On the way back it will be 2 stops over 3 days. I think its possible with 2 sharing the driving. I am the master of sleeping in the bolt upright position!!!
