Why? was the route closed to motor vehicles?

Surely as a dog walking - cyclist it would only be "nicer" if there were no vehicles using it.

My journeys by road would be significantly "nicer" if there were no cyclists - however I don't get appalled when I see them on the road, I respect the fact we all have to share the same space and do my best to keep everyone safe.

Very odd statement to make on a Land Rover forum. I can only think you are just been controversial to the general opinions here.

I also would be 'appalled' if it was a footpath, bridleway, restricted byway, TRO'd, or private land.

However, I also get appalled by the morons who let their dogs Censored on the pavement outside my house, or even worse, pick it up in a plastic then hang it on the nearest tree! FFS whats the world coming too.

Can you PM me where this lane is please? I'm in Tamworth and would love to go on some gentle lanes (perhaps not this one thnking about it!! Shocked ) but I don't know where any legal lanes are in the locality.

Also if anyone is going laning and doesn't mind me tagging along?? Gentle lanes only those please and would have to be midweek during school hours too. Thumbs Up

As a cycle walking dogger, I am also appalled. I mean, the sheer offront of the man driving a vehicle that is clearly meant for narrow city streets up a muddy lane.

I tell you, I'll be writing to my MP and the Daily Mail about this.

Er guys... This was clearly humour, but I find the questions about it even more funny.

Incoming.... Means here come the cyclists and dog walkers attacking the green lane driver.

It's a pity, but jokes are never quite so funny when you have to explain them eh?

Now this does boil my pi$$.

Looking at the ruts it is either a very well used lane or the farmer is a frequent user, I suspect the latter. However on such a rutted lane driving alone I would be very cautious or close to home with a defender their to pull me out Whistle

I wouldn't be able to describe where it is however I have another post complaining about the fact it's illegally closed at one end and there is a picture of the OS map on there.

If you go to WH Smiths and get yourself an OS map then all you do is search for the green crosses. There are quite a few around North Leicestershire. This one was near to Ashby off the A511.
