But you simply by a sim copier and copy your phone book on to the other phone's sim.

When I got my car PTI was fitted and I was using a RAZR but had a T610 with SIM that I didnt use. I bought the cradle for the ericsson and set the motorola to divert if off to the T610 which I left permanently in the car. The theory being that I switch off the RAZR when I got in the car and on again when I got out.

Lost count of the times that I forgot to switch the RAZR back on and had 26 missed calls on the T610 in the car.
The thing that slightly worried me was the phone ringing in the car and alerting potential theives to its presence.

So I now use just a 6230i and have a post-it note on the dash to remind me to remove it when I get out!

If I get forced down the road of all singing all dancing Qtek phone by work (which obviously wont go in the car) then the dual sim idea would be good... I will mention it to my phone manager and see what she says...

The problem with a dual sim is that you have to manually type in a code to specify which phone is active.

I have my normal mobile diverted to the car 6230i with a 10 second delay (long enough to answer it but short enough not to put people off) and that in turn is diverted on a 10 second delay to my office phone at work. I work in a nuclear power station so I can't have the mobile on in work so my calls get diverted to the car out in the car park and then to my desk. When I'm in the car I can leave the phone in my pocket switched on, I just ignore it and it diverts after about 3 rings.

Job's a good 'un!

I'm on O2 and have a 6230i in the car cradle and an E55 that is my main phone. When I'm in the car the E55 diverts to the car phone and when I get out I cancel the divert (about 3 or 4 button pushes -easy) All on one business tariff with BB 1300 minutes free off peak calls and 3 phones £85

United Kingdom 2005 Discovery 3 TDV6 SE Manual Zambezi SilverDiscovery 3

All this does seem a bit of a long and complicated way round, Neutral I just have a Parrot BT kit in both our cars, when on foot, use mobile as normal, when in car, call comes through car kit and all phonebook, missed calls etc are displayed on parrot. Confused

Not even need to take mobile out of pocket, bag in boot etc, works for me anyway! Confused

Hi,
I use O2 provider( but in Czech republic) and I have Dual SIM ( two cards with on Number) as well.
I have Nokia 6230i specially meant for operation in the cradle, ...there is a setting procedure in Nokia 6230i Menu ( Phone Settings-Accessories-Handsfree- Ignition Recognition- On) enabling Car Ignition Recognition, i.e. phone is switched on ( or re-activated) automatically when You switch on Key in ignition to I or II position. By this way in not necessary to switch off Your second phone or to do anything to activate PTI in the car. You just come and drive and Your car phone ( one in the cradle) is switched on automatically without touching anything.
No SIM card is master.
But some times I meet the problem after I switch ignition off when I stop the car. My second phone must be activated by re-start.
Maybe this is a problem of master and slave card solution or maybe I have to try to adjust automatic Network search in my handy phone to avoid problems with re-starting second phone.
Synchronization I do via BT.
In spite of this difficulties to re-activate my handy phone after driving, I consider this solution has following advantegeous:
1. No Problem with forgeting phone in the car cradle ( as it is permanently there)
2. No Problems with battery power consumption like when using BlueTooth
3. Much faster work with PTI in compare with BlueTooth connection
4. Better Sound Quality comparing BT connection
5. Always ready Second Phone with fullly charged battery, great if You are faraway in the Field

Disadvantegeous:
1. Synchonization of Phone books between both phones via Bluetooth is needed from time to time
2. Re-activation of handy phone ( my Main Phone) is not always fully automatic and needs phone re-start after I left the car...this should be a problem of Phone itself ( I use Sony Ericsson 750i as handy one)

Do You have somebody an experince with similar problem?
Thanx
