Dull groan.

I don’t know, when I drive slow I hear a dull groan well I can’t really describe it and it’s doing my head in.

It’s like a dry joint turning and it’s giving off a groan, not loud but it’s there.

Don’t feel like the steering that turns all ok it’s something else and my heads gone.

Haaaaaaaaa bloody cars.

The best initial test for determining the source of a noise like this is to try driving somewhere without the wife in the passenger seat.

That method only eliminates whining noises

Tried that but for some reason when I suggested it my head hurt and I woke up in A&E.

Could be the turbos spooling up or the DPF at the rear?

The transmissions on these cars emit a low pitch moan especially at low revs......

Don’t have a DPF.

But it’s so annoying.

Propshaft bearing?

Does the sound happen when idling in neutral, or at high revs in neutral? That would T least point you in the starting direction.

Series 2 LRs (2.4L petrol) used to groan with engine hot and idling, fitter told me it was related to oil movement through the engine lub. passages. Does your noise appear both when engine is hot AND cold ?

I can but it’s intermittent and hard while driving.

I’m hoping it’s not a turbo.
