The Coulthard Museum is now bolted on to the Cocoabean Factory. Think it's £6 for entry, though for a separate fee (£16 I think) you can have a go in the F1 simulator.
+1 for Raiders Road.
The coast road from Knockbrex (few miles from Gatehouse) along through Kirkcudbright to Dumfries is fantastic with plenty of beautiful sandy beaches. Well worth a drive.MY15 D4 SDV6 HSE Corris Grey - Gone

In honesty, not a lot. We had a few days there. Without mountain bike and fishing rods we'd have been lost...but there were some sights.D4 HSE....Probably, but not quite decided yet.

Arrived at Gatehouse of Fleet yesterday, absolutely peed it down, so stayed in the 'static'.
Out today for a beer (or two) in the Masonic Arms - nice pub with food & beer garden.
Going for an 'arty' day in Kirkcudbright tomorrow as well as taking in DC's museum in Twynholm.
Then the 'raiders road' forest drive & picnic on Tue.
Might just go for another beer (or four) on Wed and contemplate the plans for the rest of the week.
Thanks for the tips, been a very useful guide.
Btw, only one midge bite so far ! ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧

Apart from a small splash just before lunch, weather has been great in D&G today...

Also have to say that D&G seems to be the centre of the universe when it comes to Jap Pickup Trucks I've seen literally dozens of DMAX's - seen quite a few D3 and D4's too, no stickers though Steve N | 21MY Defender | 08MY Discovery 3 (history) | 06MY Discovery 3 (ancient history)

Did Raiders Road too yesterday and got out of Otterpool without a single midge bite ..... but maybe thats because I'm not English.
Yesterday my day was:- the old military road out of Gatehouse to Creetown, onto Newton Stewart (to check out and get some provisions). Then the drive up to Clatteringshaws Loch & visitor centre, drive down the Raiders Road. On exit drive down the Kirkcudbridge rd, turning right at Laurieston, through the forest, up over the moor, then peaking with some glorious views over Wigton Bay before descending back down home to Gatehouse of Fleet.
Today was out towards Newton Stewart then down to Wigton, then the nice we harbour village of Gairlieston, down to the Isle of Whithorn, then Whithorn, over to Port William, up to Glenluce, then out to Stranraer (looks like i parked in the exact same spot).
Weather today was a bit p!sh, certainly a different look today than on your pics Steve.
Didnt have any fish n chips on either day, and none in the future ...... because l'm vegetarian!
Going to be a cracking day weatherwise tomorrow, so going to have my 'arty' day in Kirkcudbridge & DC's museum then. ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
Spent a happy couple of hours in Kircudbright this afternoon dodging the showers. All very relaxing. As you say, tomorrow looks great so need to plan something. Dog has never had so many long walks!

How could I have said that !!!
On Wed I came back for another weeks holiday (my third time now), what a beautiful and quiet piece of the world ...... with no midges to date.
It's "severe chilling" at the end of each day just sitting on the bench, in the sun, outside the Masonic Arms with a nice cold beer.
Kirkcudbright this morning with kayaking from the rocks & sandy shoreline this afternoon in readiness for my nice cold beer later.
Can't beat it ...... always on the road less travelled 🚧
