DVD remotes not working.....

My D3 has a DVD player under the passenger seat with 2 pull down screens in the roof behind the front seats. The DVD player is working but the remotes don’t seem to work at all so I can’t get the DVD’s to play as there’s no play button on the unit itself!

I’ve changed the battteries in the 2 remotes but they’re not doing anything. Has anyone got any suggestions/ideas???

If I can get them working it will be ideal for keeping my daughters quiet with Disney films on longer journeys! 😆

Thanks

Have you taken the DVD unit out to see if there is an aerial that may have come loose?
Or have you taken a remote apart to see if there is any corrosion on the battery terminals or on the circuit board?.

you can test the remotes themselves by :

point them towards a digital camera and press the remote button.

You should see a white light from the transmitter if its working.
If not, press harder on the button!

Test it on a known working TV remote

Do a Chromecast upgrade, a lot easier that it sounds. Did it for my kids and they were stoked! Just a converter between the chromecast and the aux input, connect it to the phones wifi share.

Do you know where the remote infra red receiving “eye” is for the unit? - has it in fact got one, when you find it point the remotes at it, it may have fallen from its position, without it no remote will work.
 It can when others can't,
It will when others won't,
It goes where others don't.
