DVLA-REG TRANSFERS AND PLATES!!!
So I fancy a personalised plate. For ages I’ve been looking for a prefix SJC plate. 2 finally come up on auction and low and behold I get out bid on them over and over. A quick check shows that reg transfers already have them for sale on there web site.
Seems disgusting that big business is allowed to bid against the pubic. In this case. Drive the price up and then sell on at a massive hike.

Why? DVLA isn’t a charity. It uses its resources to generate income for the taxpayer. Business or private individual, a Reg plate has a value and that value is what someone is willing to pay. Obviously you had a figure in mind you were prepared to pay and someone had a higher one.D4 HSE EU6 (Known as Jeeves)

Anyone can register to bid, DVLA want to get the best price possible.
It might have been a MOP who bought them and is trying to punt them on at a profit via reg transfers.
I have in the past, seen multiple reg. dealers listing the same plate, which was actually still being offered for sale on the DVLA website for a couple of hundred quid less.2006 D3 HSE (Original & still the best)-GONE

if you look your will find that as soon as the DVLA auction lot lists are published, quite a few of the bigger dealers have plates from those lists advertised on their sites at what they think they can sell them for (so before the auction with them on has even started). I guess if they get some interest they then go and bid/win them.
