Currently have the rear 3/4 panel off as I suspect mice may have been gnawing at my electrics. Hidden behind three unused black, yellow and mauve connectors, I spotted an earth strap that is not connected. I am guessing it is not needed, or should I connect it to the body somewhere suitable?
My current issue is that my parking sensors (all) and tailgate keyless entry both stopping working about the same time, so I hope this is unrelated and a red Herring.

Steve

Does it look like it's ever been clamped under a bolt? I'd connect it to a clean earth anyway, it can't hurt.Richard

So, that earth strap will be a red Herring, as my issues was self inflicted
The connection between the rear bumper and the car was not fully pushed home. Making that connection properly, ensuring it clicks into place and the parking sensors work and so does the keyless tailgate unlock.
Seeing that my issue is fixed and the strap does not look to have been used means I will leave it as I found it.

Looking at the pics from Mikey, those are plugs for the rear E diff (where fitted)
