EGR feedback on 07 onwards please.
i have noticed that people who fit the blanking plates on later models are getting all sorts of problems with the computer. can some of you who had the problems please tell me what they were as i have just bought a 57, 08 RRS tdv6 and i am going to use it as a test vehicle to do mods on and i am also going to see if i can over come the problems with the EGRS on the newer emissions engine, so any info will be very helpful and if i can overcome the problem then i'll let you know. i dont normally ask but it would be nice to get an idea of the problems before i start.
This is not quite the feedback you were seeking but I was wondering if any forum member had a set of blanking plates they no longer want. I've got a 55 plate 06MY with almost 45000 miles on the clock and I'm sure the EGRs are going to play up again soon so I'd like to fit blanking plates now that the warranty has expired.
I know, should have bought a set during the group buy earlier this year
Maybe AndrewW would like to start another group buy Now an ex-D3 owner after 7 happy years. Miss the car but not the big bills

Albourneboy, yes I have a spare set, I had super-lightweight alloy ones fitted by JE but never got around to seeing the need to upgrade to s/s - the EGR valve bodies are alloy anyway so the temps can't be a problem. PM me your address and I'll pop them in the post.Cheers

James, I think part of the problem is that the earlier engines are allowed under the earlier Euro spec to ignore certain faults whereas I suspect the latest spec is to "inform" the driver of faults so that they can be rectified. We have an 07 RRS and I haven't blanked the EGRs on it for that reason. My 05 D3 on the other hand shows no faults and has passed its MoT with no issues (blanked EGRs and removed butterfly).
I might experiment and remove the butterfly and see what happens as that is 100% reversible without even messing with blanking plates....Cheers
