Electric front windows playing up!

So my electric windows have been playing up over the past few weeks, last night had a very windy drive home down the m25 so it’s finally time to get it sorted!

So the windows work intermittently, sometimes they work straight away sometimes they need 10 minutes To work then sometimes they just don’t work at all!

I’ve taken the door card off, can’t find broken wires.
Checked the switch module that looks good and so do the plugs.
The rear windows work absolutely fine just the fronts that play up! So I presume the switch module is good.

So I’m a bit on the baffled side here, has anyone come across this and how did you solve the issue?

Thanks jon 🤙🏻

I guess you need to take the door card off. Drive round like that for a few Days

When it plays up. Test the voltage at the motor connector.
Test the up or down signal at the window when button pressed. If not there check window switch wiringn

What Pete says is a good starting point. Is it just one window or more than one. Single window is more than likely the switch or a connection.
Just reread the question, down by the "A" pillar is where the door cable comes through so check the connector and wiring in this location.

I had an intermittent issue with one of the rear windows, which turned into a permanent one in the open position Big Cry

Turned out to be the drivers switch set, assuming water got in there (one of a very limited set of design niggles I have with the D3) picked up a second hand unit of ebay all good...
